Greetings and welcome to the new year! We’re so glad to be here with you as time marches on and we all officially reset our planet’s path around the sun once more. In just a few weeks we will be looking towards Groundhog Day, the spring thaw and the warmth of our planet’s axis tilting once more. While looking ahead to the next 365 is really easy to do based upon the current cold spell that the midwest is locked in, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what last year was for us.
Without a doubt our resident penguin couple Mama and Papa was a highlight to 2017. The completion of projects like our outer rock wall extension and revamped Safari Train Station were huge undertakings that turned out really well.
2017 was also a huge year of change as we bid farewell to our beloved owner Mark Schoebel. His humanity and his compassion are still the foundations of our family and the tie that compels us upon our mission. His desire was to see people having the time of their lives when they enter HIS park and by God we will do our best to live up to his vision for our guests and our families.
With that last paragraph I am officially closing the book on 2017. Having said that on a personal note my family has made a lot of changes to our diet starting December 5th. The new year now gives us a chance to embrace exercising and physical fitness. Which brings me to the point of this blog. I am absolutely dying to know what you all have resolved to change in 2018?
Some people will say lose weight, some will say to quit smoking. Some people will want to travel more and some people have resolved to make changes that aren’t conventional. What are your plans? Hopefully Timbavati Wildlife Park is in your plans this year and remember we’re actually open all year round with guided tours available at 11Am and 1PM. Happy New Year and we’re looking forward to seeing you and your loved ones in the park!
