Greetings Friends and welcome to this week’s blog! As you all know opening day was this past Saturday. We had a blast and it was a huge success. We cranked up good old Fort Dells Number 9 and got the Safari Train Ride rolling again. The grass is greening and the animals are teeming.
Opening Day 2018 was sunlit and brisk. It was actually an excellent day to walk around and just be in nature. One thing that struck me as fascinating on Opening Day was the amount of return visitors. There were a lot of people in the park to see what was new.
As I approached different encounters and petting areas I could hear people remembering the changes that had happened since the last time they were there. Which brings me to the point of this blog. You never actually know what animals will be where.
There are a plethora of reasons that animals get shifted around. From trips to the farm to new babies being born and needing private time with each other. You know things like that. They also tend to marvel at the new builds.
Last year we introduced a lot of new things like the new rock wall and removed the go-kart track, new train station, you know, little things like that lol. This year isn’t being a slouch either as we are building an all new petting area complete with a goat bridge! We are also still working diligently on our gift shop remodel and when people see those projects they ask about them.
It’s a beautiful cycle of growth and listening to you, our guests not only acknowledge those changes but also validates our work. Thank you for making opening day a blast and we’re looking forward to a great season with you all.
We have a Combo Ticket Special right now! You can get a General Admission and a Safari Train Ride for one great price. We also have VIP Tours available if you would like a guided experience with one of our professional animal handlers.
